In November 2017, local Norfolk children’s bereavement charity ‘Nelson’s Journey’ celebrated their 20th anniversary and to celebrate they have challenged twenty local Norfolk businesses to each pledge to raise £1000 and as proud supporters of this wonderful charity, of course, Rosedale Funeral Home was one of the first businesses to pledge our support.
Simon Wright, our Chief Executive said:
“We are really excited about working with so many Norfolk businesses in our 20th year. I am struck by their enthusiasm to work together, helping to raise sufficient funds to cover the salary of a professional Child Bereavement Support Worker throughout the year. With demand for our services growing all the time, the support of the local business community is essential as we seek to grow our capacity to help Norfolk’s bereaved children.
“So far, we have received over 780 referrals for support during 2017; this is more than we received in the first 10 years of our existence. In recent years we have demand for our bereavement support increase significantly. We have delivered child bereavement support training to over 1000 professionals, helping them to feel more confident about providing appropriate support and guidance to children in settings such as classrooms and social care settings.
Anne Beckett-Allen spent a great afternoon with all our fellow businesses who have signed up to support the ‘twenty for 20’ campaign with lots of fundraising ideas and challenges being discussed.
Here at Rosedale we will be organising a number of fundraising events throughout their 20th year including a bingo night, purple picnic and quiz to name but a few.
